What friends can see
Applies to everyone who follows you. These are
the only things Barry shows them on his own.
Meals from friends
Only people you follow back. A meal they send
sits on Barry’s server until you open it, then it is gone.
Nothing you log is ever sent anywhere.

What counts as hitting a goal
Set each macro to how you actually think about it. At least hits when you reach the number or go past it. At most hits when you stay at or under. Around wants you close to it either way.

How Barry guesses
Tell him what you ate in normal words and he'll work out the
numbers. He is a capybara in a hot spring, not a food scientist, so they're
estimates — and he'll say how sure he is each time.
Tell him more than you think you need to"half a bagel with cream cheese" beats "bagel". "8oz chicken breast, grilled"
beats "chicken". Amounts, sizes, how it was cooked — every bit makes the
guess less of a guess.
If it has a barcode, scan it insteadPackets carry exact numbers and the scanner just reads them. Asking Barry
to remember one specific product's label is the one thing he's genuinely
bad at — he'll answer confidently and he'll be wrong.
He's best at food nobody packagedRestaurants, someone else's cooking, a plate you didn't make. There's no
barcode for any of that and no database either — which is exactly when
describing it is the fastest thing you can do.
Barry can be wrongHe's pretty smart for a capybara, but he does make mistakes — so always
double check what he gives you before you log it. He shows his working item
by item and tells you what he assumed, and nothing is saved until you press
Save. If a number looks off, it probably is. Type over it.
How Barry works
Two separate things drive Barry, and neither of them
is judging you.
His mood is right nowHe wakes up, waits on your meals, gets antsy if nothing goes in all
morning, and stays up past his bedtime rather than let a streak die
quietly. That's all it tracks — whether you logged, not what you
logged.
His shape is your last two weeksNever today, so he can't have an opinion about you before breakfast.
Good weeks and bad weeks nudge him a little, but he's the same cute
capybara either way. He's not going to turn into a bodybuilder and he's
not going to shame you.
A long run shows in what he's wearingA week in he's got a wristband. A month, a headband. Six months, a
towel over his shoulder like he's been at the spring all day. That's how
you see how far you've come — and the water in the streak strip is
the streak itself, warming as it grows.
Three ways to protect a dayA rest day means you're not logging at all — Barry stops
asking and the streak survives. A cheat day means you're still
logging, he just won't judge the numbers. A freeze is the one he
spends himself, the morning after a day you missed. None of them are
failures, and he never asks why.
This is Barry.
He is a capybara who has decided to care whether you log your food.
Log something every day and his hot spring warms up. Miss a day and
it goes cold, and he takes it personally.
That is the whole app. Everything else is detail.
